petition
Water resource limitation
To be delivered to: The Florida State
House, The Florida State Senate, and Governor Rick Scott
No individual or corporation can withdraw
more than 1000 gallons of water per day from underground sources.
Limiting water grabs by private
individuals in Florida. At present, the water management boards, appointed by
the governor, rule on permit applications to withdraw water from the aquifer.
Free water... just resell it and you are rich! The springs are drying up,
surprise. lakes and wells are dry. A rich Canadian named Frank Stronach has a
ranch called Adena Springs here, and he has an application to pump 13 million
gallons per day, the same amount as Ocala. He probably has good intentions, and
seems like a nice guy, but we will see if he modifies his application after
hearing our protest.
