Rollins professor, UCF student want to stop bear killings


An online petition on Change.org has generated more than 300 signatures in support of their cause.

A Rollins College professor and a UCF student are leading a charge to persuade the state to change its policy on euthanizing nuisance bears like the one that bit a Seminole County woman earlier this month.

A group of Native Americans is joining the fight against Nevada's black bear hunt and criticizing what they call a wildlife official's racist remark about it.
