The worst of the military

One of the worst of the military

More than 6,000 goats and pigs are intentionally maimed.

The Department of Defense says trainers slice open live animals and saw off their limbs in order to train medics in how to treat human injuries.

Dr. James Santos is a retired Lieutenant Commander in the Navy and a physician. And after working with real patients in the field and at the Naval Medical Center, he knows that operating on live animals did not train him in how to treat real, complex human injuries.

But worst of all not only is this kind of animal cruelty unnecessary, it could actually make medics less prepared to treat real human injuries.

Please ever if you have never signed one before, will you sign this petition?

Salmonella Diamond Pet Foods recall once again

Diamond Pet Foods recalls batch of dry dog food over possible salmonella issues at SC plant

The product was distributed to customers in 10 states: Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

Salmonella concerns prompted Missouri-based Diamond Pet Foods to recall a second batch of dry dog food produced at a South Carolina plant where production has been suspended, the company announced Thursday.

The plant in Gaston, S.C., is the same one that made mold-contaminated food that killed dozens of dogs nationwide in 2005.

The company said the recall includes Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula dry dog food.

The Meta, Mo.-based company said one bag tested positive for salmonella, and the recall of four production codes is being conducted as a precautionary measure. No dog illnesses have been reported.

The product was distributed to customers in 10 states: Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia.

Production was suspended April 8 at the Gaston plant after a recall two days earlier involving a different product, Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal & Rice dry dog food.

A cat food recall at the plant in 2009 was prompted because the food didn’t contain enough thiamine, an essential nutrient for cats.

The latest recall covers the following production codes:

— Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul 35 lb. CLF0102B31XCW 27/JAN/2013, CLF0102B32XWR 28/JAN/2013

— Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul Adult Light Formula 35 lb. CLF0102B31XCW 28/JAN/2013

— Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul 6lb. CLF0102B3XALW 28/JAN/2013

The company said customers should stop feeding the food in question to their pets and discard it.

Various Black Bears?

Black Bears are not various killers, they will fight if you push them hard into a corner, are wounded or are protecting their cubs.

That mother bear ( we killed) only nipper that lady in the butt just to get her and her dog away from the cub.

We do not need to give Florida hunters any more reasons to kill them.

Two orphaned black bear cubs are waking up in a new home.

The baby bears were found on Eglin Air Force base in the panhandle over the weekend.

They are only about 9 weeks old and weigh less than seven pounds each.

Florida Fish and Wildlife determined they were orphans and took them to the Black Bear Rehabilitation Center in Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park FLORIDA

Bears invade TV set

A weather anchor in Pennsylvania found it "unbearable" to do his forecast and he had four furry reasons not to.

The backyard set for a Pennsylvania TV station's weather forecasts was taken over by four bears on Monday.

The weather guy went out to update viewers on the unseasonably cold weather and snow in the region and found himself nose-to-nose with a black bear.

He decided he'd do the forecast inside the studio.
