The Airedale Terrier
is a breed of terrier that originated in Airedale in Yorkshire, England.
It is the "King
of Terriers" because it is the largest of the terrier breeds.

The
breed has also been called the Waterside Terrier, because it was bred

which runs through
Airedale.
In the United
Kingdom this breed has also been used as a police dog.
In the 2nd World War
as a messenger between foxholes for the army.
Airedale is a
geographic area in Yorkshire, England.
The valley stretches
from the river's origin in Malham which is in the Yorkshire Dales, down past
Keighley and Bingley, through Leeds and Castleford and on to join the River
Ouse at Airmyn.
This valley is of
great topographic significance for provides low-altitude passes through the mid
Pennines to the west coast.
